We honor your gift to AA and to a greater understanding of alcoholism.  Your talks are shown at jails and institutions to give those suffering alcoholics and addicts hope of recovery from their disease.  Please get well soon and thanks for all you have given us.

I first heard your message while an inmate in a Michigan prison in 1990.  I saw you in person at Detroit's Fox Theater in mid '90's.  Today, I own a treatment center and show "Chalk Talk" on a regualr basis, despite it being over 20 years old!  On 1/15/2008, I had 17 years of clean time.  Thanks and GET WELL SOON!

Just so you know, I saw "Chalk Talk" when I had about 150 days.  That was in 1970.  I am still sober after all of these years.  38, in a row, no sipping.  We have never met, but our spirit is One.

Father Martin, know that you are in my prayers.  I will not forget your movie, "Chalk Talk" and others, when I desperately needed acceptance, over 28 years ago.  God Bless you, Father Joe, for all you have helped.

I saw Chalk Talk in rehab more than 21 years ago.  It had a profound affect on me.  I have not needed to take a drink, one day at a time, since then.  Thank you for helping me in my recovery from alcoholism.

In my struggles of getting sober, always looked forward to getting to see your videos in treatment.  That was always my favorite part.  I tried for many years to get sober and last month I earned my four year coin.

I have tried many times to your videos, because you have found a way to make this really simple, but I never had any luck finding them.  Last place I thought to check was YouTube!

I just want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your work.

I'm coming up on five months of sobriety and clean from drugs.  I have a sponsor with 32 years of sobriety and he has now taken me through the first five steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.  Life has changed in so many ways (all good), and he now wants me to be sure that I am entirely ready to have my defects of character removed by God.  I'm so amazed by the change I've experienced and the sense of purpose that God is developing in me.  I'm also grateful for you and the service you provide.  Thank you Father Martin.  God Bless!
